"Recently I received a gift for one of JP's classes. I consider myself a decent amateur photographer but what I was looking for was help in the more technical aspects of photography rather than photo composition. JP's knowledge of cameras is astounding, and I learned quite a bit from just one lesson. He came to my house and his demeanor was immediately at ease and relaxed and never did I feel intimidated by his expertise. Quite the opposite. He's great and I'll do another class sometime soon. Highly recommended."

"I had heard about JP through the grapevine and contacted him regarding a private photography session. I have owned a camera forever but never had taken the time to really understand all its components, and as a result my photos always came out sub par. So booking a session with JP seemed like the right thing to do, and I can now say with confidence I was right to do so... JP is amazing! His teaching style is thorough, clear, patient, and engaging. But most importantly, he created a session 100% appropriate for my level. Everything he taught me was basic enough for me to grasp and actually perform myself, and was taught in a way that made me want to learn more. My pictures are so much better now, and I only took one session!"

"I took a one-on-one class with JP this past weekend and am so glad I did! JP has a wonderful way of explaining complex concepts (aperture/shutter speed, etc.) in a very down-to-earth manner, and uses a ton of examples. He was extremely professional and accommodating throughout the entire process (starting with scheduling). JP took the time to walk through my very specific questions/concerns with regard to the type of photography skills I am looking to improve upon (shooting products for my business). He even went the extra mile and suggested stores I could check out for specific photography supplies (backgrounds, etc.) and tailored the class so that it fit my needs. I am very much looking forward to taking another class with JP in the future, and highly recommend him to anyone who is looking to learn more about photography and wants to learn how to take better images!"

"Imagine having the undivided attention of an excellent photography instructor for one hour. I took JP's Making Sense of Your Camera class and was looking forward to taking another class with him. I realized that what would be most helpful was an in-depth discussion of the photos I'd already taken. Why isn't this in focus? Why is this in focus, but the wrong color? How do I keep this from happening? JP said this was absolutely something we could do, and thanks to Zoom and photo metadata I had an hour of really helpful instruction. JP is a natural teacher with the ability to share technical and aesthetic knowledge simply and patiently. To fine tune his explanations to settings on my camera, he downloaded the manual for it before our session so he could give me specific instructions. He is tremendously attentive to a student's interests and desires. He is also positive and encouraging about what you've done and builds on that to suggest possible ways to get closer to what you are trying to do. There was so much information in the one hour session I went from feeling overwhelmed and frustrated to feeling eager to begin again. A private class with JP is an info-per-minute bargain."
